PJD take their Carey Elite model and change things up a little adding a higher grade flame or quilted top to a mahogany body to create the Carey Limited. The Carey Limited features a chambered, bound Mahogany body, paired with a AAA flamed or quilted maple top. The neck is made from roasted maple, with a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape. The heal block is contoured for comfort. We custom ordered this guitar in a gloss Nitro finish which looks brilliant and is fitted with Bare Knuckle Old Guard Humbuckers. Hand made in the UK.

MAHOGANY BODY & AAA FLAME MAPLE TOP

This guitar has a lovely Mahogany body with a book matched AAA Flame Maple top.

Mahogany is warm and mellow, providing excellent low frequencies, pronounced lower-mids and unpronounced, yet appealing, high ends. The result is a balanced tone with crisp and strong fundamentals.

The transparent Royal Blue finish pairs beautifully with the Flame Maple top.

GLOSS NITRO FINISH

Nitro finish allows the wood on your guitar to breathe, yielding a more open sound and greater sustain. It's a very high quality finish that looks and feels great.

BARE KNUCKLE OLD GUARD HUMBUCKER

The Old Guard Humbucker has a warm, moderate output designed for classic blues, rock, country and pop.

These pickups brillantly capture the golden era tones we all know and love.

'HOT DOG' FRETS

'Hot dog' fret ends have a decidedly rounded shape, hence the 'Hot dog' look. This is not a universal name for this type of fret, but luthiers commonly call it that!

On a premium fretted instrument, such as a PJD the hand rolled fret ends show the luthier has spent a good amount of time making sure every fret is not only leveled and perfect, but also has super-smooth edges that feel good on the fret hand. The 'Hot dog' frets have a unqiue feel to them but are very comfortable and are considered to be a premium option on a guitar.
