A stripped down, no nonsense PJD St. John standard has all the hall marks of a classic design with a clean modern finish. The PJD St. John is a chambered American ash body, paired with an ash top. The neck is made from roasted maple, with a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape. The guitar is finished in Trans Black Nitro finish and is fitted with a Bare Knuckle Old Guard P90 and Humbucker. Hand made in the UK.

This guitar has a lovely Two Piece American Ash body with a Ash top.
Ash produces chiming highs, clear midrange and strong low end that lets higher overtones ring through, resulting in greater harmonic content.
The transparent Black finish pairs beautifully with the open grain of the Ash top.
Nitro finish allows the wood on your guitar to breathe, yielding a more open sound and greater sustain. It's a very high quality finish that looks and feels great.
The Bare Knuckle Old Guard P90 has a fat, clean tone with a smoother treble ideal for harder, driving rock with more grind.
The Old Guard Humbucker has a warm, moderate output designed for classic blues, rock, country and pop.

'Hot dog' fret ends have a decidedly rounded shape, hence the 'Hot dog' look. This is not a universal name for this type of fret, but luthiers commonly call it that!
On a premium fretted instrument, such as a PJD the hand rolled fret ends show the luthier has spent a good amount of time making sure every fret is not only leveled and perfect, but also has super-smooth edges that feel good on the fret hand. The 'Hot dog' frets have a unqiue feel to them but are very comfortable and are considered to be a premium option on a guitar.
