The Kaplan viola A string produces a full, rich, and warm tone. It is designed to allow greater projection in the higher register of the instrument while balancing and blending well with the lower strings. Titanium winding on high-carbon steel core allows outstanding performance. It stands up well to extreme bow pressure, and provides a strong, soloistic tone quality without being overly bright. Scaled to fit long-scale viola (body length 16-16 ½ inches) with a playing length of 15 inches (380mm), these medium tension strings are optimized to the needs of a majority of players.
